Michiel (1988) works at Van Lanschot Bankiers since 2012. He started with a private banking traineeship, an bank-wide training program focused on Business Banking, Asset Management and International Private Banking. As the international approach of the Swiss client base appealed him he was pleased being able to proceed his career at Van Lanschot Switzerland in 2015.

Michiel took his first economics courses at the University of Amsterdam in 2008, the year that the financial crisis started. He finished his studies Monetary Economics in 2012. During his studies he spent a period in South Korea and he organized a discussion program (Room for Discussion) where he interviewed politicians, entrepreneurs and economists. Before starting at Van Lanschot he held an internship at the Embassy of the Netherlands in Washington DC.

Michiel loves road biking, jogging, skiing and travelling with his girlfriend. He is very interested in politics and stock investing.

Bart Jan began working for Van Lanschot Bankiers in July 2000. Prior to moving to Switzerland in April 2013 he worked at the offices in The Hague, Wassenaar and Hilversum. By moving to Switzerland Bart Jan has fulfilled his wish to increase his focus on international clientele and advising them.

Bart Jan studied Dutch law at Leiden University and attended Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne. He also took part at the Bank's Young Executives Program and the International Banking Summer School in Hong Kong. Before coming to Switzerland Bart worked in the Netherlands as a manager of the Private Wealth Team in Hilversum responsible for the realisation of growth objectives for Van Lanschot in 't Gooi.

Bart Jan is married and has two sons.

Bart (1967) has been working for Van Lanschot since 2008. Until 2015 he has been working for Van Lanschot Private Office in The Netherlands. International Private Banking and structuring have always been his passions. It was therefore a logical step to join Van Lanschot Switzerland in 2015.

He studied business at the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht and continued to attend several fiscal and legal trainings. Bart started his professional career as trainer in the subjects of fiscal and legal advice at the Baard group. After his period as a trainer, he made the decision to move to the practical side of the business and became a private banker, first at Robeco and later at MeesPierson.

Next to his daily work at Van Lanschot, Bart used to teach on a regular basis until he moved to Switzerland. He is specialized in international structuring for entrepreneurs and their businesses.

Bart loves skiing, hiking in the mountains, city trips, running, cycling and good food. His main character traits:   out-of-the-box mentality, works towards solutions and a true “peoples person”.

After having worked in various functions which combined investment advisory and management for Van Lanschot Netherlands since 1990, Jac (1963) joined Van Lanschot Switzerland in August 2016. After having managed various teams, Jac now chose to fully focus on providing investment advice in a new and international environment.

Jac graduated from the Polytechnic in Eindhoven in 1985 and immediately afterwards started in the investment business. Before starting his career at Van Lanschot, he worked at a privately owned asset manager as well as a large bank.

Jac’s hobbies include classic cars, wine and hiking. He also likes to clear his mind on the golf-course. Jac is married and has 3 sons.

Livia (1969) has been working for Van Lanschot Bankiers since 1998. She is responsible for asset management services.

Livia graduated from the University of Antwerp with a degree in applied economics specialising in accounting. She is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Livia began her career in the financial industry in 1993 at UBS in London as a bond saleswoman/trader. After two years she joined UBS in Luxembourg where she expanded her knowledge of equity markets as an asset manager for institutional clients.

Livia has a great passion for music (especially piano).

Jan-Willem (1971) has been working at Van Lanschot since 2011.

Jan-Willem is a Swiss national with Dutch roots and has over 20 years experience in asset management and private banking. Prior to working for Van Lanschot in 2011, Jan-Willem worked for a number of years at UBS for the Active Advisory Wealth Management Team in Zurich. Before that in 2007 Jan-Willem spent eight years in Frankfurt am Main where he worked as a fund manager for Allianz Global Investors.

Jan-Willem has a fundamental interest in macroeconomics and a passion for financial markets. He speaks five languages, is a graduate in economics and law (University of Fribourg) and is a Chartered International Investment Analyst (CIIA). In his spare time Jan-Willem can be found at Lake Zurich and he is a fan of design and modern art.

Dick’s (1968) interest in investments started in the nineties whilst following an evening course in investing by the VEB (Dutch Investors’ Association).

After completing his studies at the institute of technology, he studied economy at the Erasmus University. His career as an investment advisor started at Robeco, followed by Fortis Bank and MeesPierson in The Hague and Rotterdam. In 2009 Dick moved to Luxemburg together with his wife and 2 kids (son & daughter) to start his job as a Senior Investment Advisor for ABN Amro Luxemburg.

Servicing a mostly Dutch clientele in an international setting motivated his move to Van Lanschot Switzerland. Dick has been part of our team of investment professionals since September 2018.

Dick enjoys walks with his family and 3-year old black Labrador and is a fanatic supporter of his children’s field hockey. In Luxemburg, he discovered the joys of leisurely cycling on his road bike.

Janna (1990) works at Van Lanschot Switzerland since February 2017.

Janna has a double degree in European Governance and Public Administration from the University of Konstanz (Germany) and Utrecht University. Janna is interested both in the public as the private sector. She has gained valuable experience at the department of economics of the Dutch Embassy in Athens, Greece, as well as at Heineken The Netherlands. She then took up the management traineeship at ABN Amro in Amsterdam, where she worked as consultant at ABN Amro Clearing.

Janna loves swimming in blue sees, mountain biking and playing the piano.

Henry (1989) is working as a private banker since 2014. In 2017 he made the transfer to Van Lanschot Switzerland. This step enabled him to fulfil his wish to be able to offer clients true private banking service.

He studied economics at the University of Durham in the United Kingdom as well as at Zurich University in Switzerland. After having gained experience at the dealing rooms of Vattenfall and Eneco, Henry worked for Schneider Electric as energy purchase manager for bulk use customers. He then made the switch to private banking and served Dutch clients at UBS Switzerland for 3.5 years.

Henry has a keen interest in financial markets, macro economics, energy and politics. In his free time he loves hiking through the mountains, cricket, running and his life at the Swiss Riviera.

Maurice works for Van Lanschot since 2016. He started at Van Lanschot Rotterdam as an internal relationship manager. As such, he contributed to the integration of Staal Bankiers within Van Lanschot. Following his desire to pursue an international career, Maurice moved to Zurich in 2017 to start his job as an internal relationship manager for Van Lanschot Switzerland.

Maurice studied Commercial Economics at the College of Arnhem and Nijmegen. In 2013 he started his career in private banking when he enrolled ABN Amro MeesPierson’s management traineeship.

Maurice loves sports. He often goes to the gym, and intends to run many laps near the lake of Zurich. Apart from his passion for sports, Maurice likes to watch movies and is interested in cars.

Bart started his career in various commercial roles within ING Bank (The Netherlands), after which he soon found his passion in the investment discipline. After successfully finishing his Chartered Financial Analyst study and becoming a CFA charter holder, Bart continued his career in various investment related functions in institutional asset management and private banking within ING Group. In 2006 Bart moved to Singapore and became regionally responsible for product development within ING Private Banking Asia. Next to his career in banking, Bart also engaged in various entrepreneurial activities within the cultural and internet sectors.

Bart is very passionate about good food, wine, music, art, philosophy and culture in general. Bart is also a fanatic hiker, mountaineer and nature lover; he loves to spend his weekends in the mountains.

Charlotte (1990) works for Van Lanschot Switzerland since 2017. Her emigration to Switzerland was a continuation of her dream to live and work in various countries around the world.

During her International Business Administration studies at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, she lived in Hong Kong for six months as part of an exchange program with the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She also had an internship in New York and completed her masters in International Journalism at the City University in London. She also lived and worked in Sydney, Australia, using the working holiday visa.

She decided to start her career in finance a bit closer to home. For 4 years she worked in central London for the American Asset Manager Fisher Investments, followed by Dimensional Fund Advisors.

Charlotte is an avid fan of tennis. She loves to travel, hike and visit Christmas Markets. She is currently writing a book in her free time, and secretly hopes to become the next JK Rowling.
